DONNA POSTER NEWSLETTER
                                                       JUNE ‘08

Oh my goodness --- life has gotten away from me this month!  Laura, my San Diego daughter has been here and we made a marathon shopping and visiting time of it.  Fun and more fun but not much else got done.   Besides that, I’m in the middle of writing my fifth book.

And then there’s always Eliad!  He’s grown four inches since his October birthday --- he’s gonna be a big boy.  I give him about four years till he’s taller than his mom, who’s five foot two!  He’s a great kid --- keeps us laughing --- last week we were having such a good time in the woods and it was getting late.  I told him it was time to go in and he drew himself up, folded his arms across his chest and informed me,” I will not go in!  I will not get undressed!  I will not take a bath!  I will not go to bed!”  I had to turn my head away so he wouldn’t see me laughing!!  I just said, “Well, you’re going to.” and started walking to the house.  Thank goodness he followed me.  Too bad it was so late--- we really were having a great time.  I sure love being a grandma!

The rest of this newsletter is all about our latest website news so I’m going to take a break, let Mr. Donna tell you all about website things, and get back to work on the book.  Hope you’re having a great summer --- I’ll write more next time.

OLD NECKTIES:
Donna has answered this often asked question about how to use old neckties in quilts, especially Foldy Stuff quilts.  It’s on our site http://Quiltwithdonna.com    Enter the site and click onto “Foldy Stuff Patterns.”  Click onto “Using Old Ties For Foldy Stuff Projects.“

CLASS WORKSHEETS:  Information on all the classes Donna will  teach in the near future are on the site.  Please feel free to make copies of these if you are in one of my classes and want some advance information.  There is a link to “Class Worksheets” on the home page.

KITS:
We are starting to kit some of our designs, and the first one can be found in the Applique Patterns section.  Click onto “Applique Patterns at the home page and then onto “For Little Boys.“  It’s the fifth one down called “P-90 Doggies Like Bones.”  More kits are on the way.  Look for them in this newsletter.

E-ZINES:  This fancy word means “electronic magazines.”  Don’t feel bad, we didn’t know that either until we started down this path.  Basically you write an article, then submit it to an E-Zine, much like submitting it to a magazine.  If it’s any good, and fits into the format of the E-Zine, they publish it for the whole world to read.  They also have advertisements just like a magazine, and that’s where they make their money; while the writer gets the fame and hopefully more people visit their website.

We submitted our first E-Zine to “Bestezines.com” in the category of Arts And Entertainment.”  The materials used are all extracted from the four books Donna authored and their materials organized into categories.  Chapter 1, of about ten chapters, is up also up and running on our website.  Enter http://Quiltwithdonna.com  and you will find a link, “Donna’s Quilting Hints.”

WE NEED YOUR HELP: The more names on a newsletter list the greater impact that list has in the website network.  Our website is submitted to about 200 search engines worldwide each month. Websites of similar content are taken more seriously and appear sooner in the list the as the number of recipients grows.  Besides that, the messages we want to send get sent to a larger number of quilters.
We would appreciate your support if you would provide the email address of any of your quilting buddies you think would like to receive our newsletter. Better yet, a membership list of your quilt guild would be great.  If someone does not want to receive the letter there is an easy way to opt out of the list, and I’ll take the fall.

NEW PATTERNS
: So you thought we were just sitting around here on Laurel Dr. doing nothing.  With us that never happens.  Six new patterns were launched this past month.
Four are applique patterns: Della Robia(under misc.), Country flowers -1 and Country Flowers-2 (under Florals), and Tub Full Of Cats (under Cats and Kitties).  Tub Full Of Cats is my idea taken from our needlepoint line when we were in that business.  I will go way out on a limb here and defy you to find a cuter cat design.  We shall see.
Two pieced designs: Basketweave and Rose Dream.  Both in the Pieced Pattern category.

FOR SHOP OWNERS:  We are thinking of developing a geographic listing of quilt shops that carry our patterns. If you are a shop owner and want to be on this list please contact
Arnposter@comcast.net   I need: shop name, address, phone number, website, and/or email address.  It is not important whether you secure the patterns directly from us or from one of our distributors.

Thanks a lot for joining us,

Mr. Donna
